Our story

The African World Network Organization Inc. is a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening relationships between Africa and the African American community while building global partnerships for the advancement of Africa.

For more than three decades, the organization has championed initiatives that bridge cultures and inspire collaboration. From its roots at Dillard University, to strategic partnerships with the City of New Orleans, the organization has expanded its reach to foster dialogue and create sustainable opportunities that uplift Africa and its people.

Its impact extends beyond cultural exchange to include facilitating world trade, advancing nation building, and driving African development. By mobilizing resources, cultivating global relationships, and promoting strategic collaborations, The African World Network Organization Inc. continues to play a pivotal role in shaping a stronger and more connected future for Africa on the world stage.

All of this has been made possible by the diligent efforts of its Founder & CEO, Dr. Nchor B. Okorn, Professor Emeritus of Political Science (Dillard University), whose vision and leadership continue to guide the organization’s mission.
